Installing Flash Player on Windows based PC’s

To install Flash Player 9 visit Adobe’s Flash Player website
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

Note: close all other browser windows before carry out the installation steps below.

Click the ‘Download Now’ button. See fig 1.


If a security window is displayed. See fig 2.

Click the ‘Yes’ button’.


After the installation has finished (which should take no longer than two minutes on a 56Kps connection you will be returned to the Flash Player download page with a message on the web page telling you that the install was successful. See fig 3.



There will also be an animation at the top of the page which you would not have seen before. See fig 4.


Installing Flash Player – Intel-based Macs

To install Flash Player 9 on Intel-based Macs go to the Adobe Flash Player website
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

Select Option 1: Intel-based Macs. See fig 1.


A download window will appear with a status bar. See fig 2.


After the install has finished a dialogue box will be displayed notifying you that the install contains an application.
Click the ‘Continue’ button that is displayed on this window. See fig 3


 When the download has finished the Downloads window will be see on screen with the icon for the install changing from a to   .
See fig 4.



Double click on the icon on the download window. The Installer window will be displayed.
See fig 5, and Click the ‘Install’ button located in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.


A message will be displayed instructing you to close down all the browsers that you have open and click ‘Continue’. See fig 6.


When the installer has started a progress window will be displayed. See fig 7



When the Install has finished the Adobe website will automatically load and the version information installed on your machine will be displayed. See fig 8.

Installing Flash Player on PowerPC-based Macs

To install Flash Player 9 on PowerPC-based Macs go to the Adobe Flash Player website
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

Select Option 2: PowerPC based Macs. See fig 1.


A download window will appear with a status bar. See fig 2.


When the installation has finished a dialogue box will be displayed notifying you that the install contains an application.
Click the ‘Continue’ button that is displayed on this window. See fig 3

To quit ‘Safari’ click the ‘Safari’ button at the top left corner of your browser window and select ‘Quit’ at the bottom of the drop down list. See Fig 7
